You Got Jokes?!
Yesterday I went out to get something to eat. After driving for a few minutes I decided to eat at Qdoba. Now, if you haven’t heard of Qdoba, it’s Chipotle, except it’s spelled differently. If you haven’t heard of Chipotle, then I have nothing more to say to you. I couldn’t remember exactly where it was, so I pulled out my phone to search for it. I also couldn’t remember how to spell it, so I searched for ‘Quidoba’, which was obviously wrong. Since I spelled it wrong, it asked, “did you mean: guido?” No, but… Hell Yeah! I was planning on getting some food, but finding guidoes in the San Gabriel Valley seemed like a lot more fun than eating by myself. I was expecting my phone to point me in the direction of the nearest gym/tanning salon/store selling overly expensive gaudy clothing/pharmacy, so I could possibly get my pump on, get some color, buy some new threads and pick up my prescription of HGH and Valtrex. After mowing it over in my head for about five minutes, I decided that none of those things involved me eating. Wait… yeah, none of those things involved me eating.
Something I have a lot of respect for is the art of Comedy; more specifically, stand-up. If there’s one thing I can always turn to make me feel better after a bad day or a fast food meal, it’s turning on the TV or hopping on Youtube and watching some of my favorite comedians. After all, laughter is known to be the best medicine… except for actual medicine.
In any case, I’ve been contemplating giving stand-up a shot. It’s more than thinking that I’m hilarious, even though I am. Standing up in front of people trying to be funny and not making them laugh can be pretty frightening, much like getting up in front of people to sing and forgetting the words to the song. Unlike this crowd, who are somewhat kind and supportive, people attending a comedy club are there to laugh, and if you’re not funny, well…
But the question is, “can I do stand-up?” My friends find me clever (and perhaps somewhat obnoxious), but am I clever enough to do stand-up? If I ask that question, then I also have to ask the question, “If my friends actually find me funny, but other people don’t, does that make my friends stupid?” Probably. But there is always the possibility that I’m pretty damn funny, in which case, I should suck it up and give it a try. If anything, I can say I gave it a try. Hey, comedy… FANTASTIC!

welll that Guido thing made me laugh so….. Yeah try it
